Basic Policy of Sustainability
Basic Policy of Sustainability
The MISUMI Group operates under a unique Business MODEL that integrates our Manufacturing Businesses—comprising the FA (Factory Automation) and the Die Components businesses—with the VONA Business, a distribution model that provides a vast range of products, from auxiliary materials to consumables used in production and automation sites.
Our business is centered on the Monozukuri industry. By 'eliminating all types of waste' for our customers and suppliers, we contribute to resolving inefficiencies within the Monozukuri industry. The Monozukuri industry enables automation and labor-saving across various economic activities, serving as an essential contributor to the sustainable development of society. In turn, society's sustainable development generates demand within the industrial sector, leading to the creation of new opportunities for MISUMI.
By contributing to the establishment of this virtuous cycle, the MISUMI Group strives to support the sustainable development of both society and industry, thereby achieving continuous growth for our company as well.
Our Sustainability Initiatives
Our Sustainability Initiatives
We contribute to the development of the Monozukuri industry by eliminating inefficiencies in the overall supply chain and entire business processes from the perspective of “time”. We have built a supply chain that serves more than 300,000 customers globally. We provide “Time Value” that reduces various inefficiencies and labor-hours in the industrial world by realizing Reliable, Quick Delivery. To continuously improve Time Value, we are constantly innovating and developing our Business MODEL, including businesses, products, and services.
At the same time, we are working to strengthen our Business Foundation, including IT, production, and logistics, and the establishment of Human Capital Foundation to support the Business MODEL.

Parts used for automation equipment and devices are typically one-of-a-kind. From creating drawings, preparing quotations to machining and procuring components, the process involves complex steps, long lead times, resulting in many highly inefficient tasks. By standardizing Make-To-Order (MTO)components for automation equipment and devices, we eliminate the need for individual drawings and simplify the entire ordering process. This approach significantly reduces the time our customers spend on inefficient tasks and enables faster, more streamlined procurement.
In addition, through globally Reliable and Quick Delivery, even for single parts, MISUMI assists in minimizing excess inventory and mitigating losses associated with missed production or operational downtime. Through the introduction of various new products and services under our Digital MODEL Shift initiatives, we streamline the procurement processes by reducing waste and labor by approximately 90%. This approach not only decreases energy consumption but also enhances resource efficiency by eliminating the necessity for paper-based drawings.
Through these efforts, MISUMI remains dedicated to fostering the sustainable advancement of society by pioneering “Time-based Innovation” within the Monozukuri industry.
Contributing to the Sustainable Development of Society
Contributing to the Sustainable Development of Society
Through our business operations themselves, we provide added value that reduces the amount of resource input and consumption in the Monozukuri industry. By fundamentally eliminating all forms of waste across our customers' and suppliers' operations, we contribute to accelerating the transition from the conventional mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal to a circular economy.
In addition, we actively respond to the growing societal demand for ESG promotion and address climate change issues, including the prevention of global warming, through our business activities. Beyond our own operations, we respect the cultures, histories, human rights, and diversity of human resources in the countries and regions where our customers and suppliers operate. By working closely with all stakeholders, we will continue to contribute to the development of a sustainable society.
